Mid Coast Health is a dynamic healthcare organization addressing a full continuum of community health, wellness, and prevention needs with a diverse medical group, a senior health center, home health care services, and a full-service 92-bed hospital. Mid Coast Health was focused on increasing their patient satisfaction scores while lowering costs by reducing the number of registrars needed across multiple sites within their network.
Mid Coast Health wanted to create a platform that addressed their interoperability issues between CPSI & Centricity while also improving the patient experience through more streamlined & accurate processes.
LifeMed ID partnered with Mid Coast Health to deliver a custom solution to address all of their business needs. The solution bridged communication between multiple EMRs across all their healthcare sites and provided their end-users with a single interface, which handled the routing of patient information to the correct medical systems.
Implementation of LifeMed ID eliminated duplicate patient records, reduced billing errors, decreased admission error rates and duplicate testing while reducing admission staff requirements and accounts receivable collection times. Average patient admission time was cut from 4 minutes to 1 minute. Patients now register just once for multiple services across the hospital. Patient safety and satisfaction have increased, and all implementation expenses were recouped within months.
The economic value is very positive; registration time was cut from 4 minutes to 1 minute. We are issuing an average of 500 smart cards daily, significantly diminishing the amount of time needed by our people to enter, update, and cleanse patient information. We also know the last time the patient information was updated, when they were seen, and the last time their insurance was checked.
Memorial Hospital is a critical access hospital that manages nearly 60k hospital visits per year. Memorial Hospital was faced with working between disparate medical record systems (CPSI & SequelMed) and in need of a solution that simplified the onboarding process for new registration staff. Working with LifeMed ID, Resolute wanted to improve healthcare standards for their patients and the community. Through an integrated care system, they wanted to collect health and consumer data to create a full view of the patient for improved patient care outcomes and satisfaction.
LifeMed ID partnered with Resolute Health to implement a patient identity solution to bridge their disparate EMRs (Athena & DocuTAP). To help with their community outreach efforts, Resolute utilized LifeMed ID’s pre-enrollment program for local events to register patients and drive the Resolute brand. LifeMed ID’s local and national merchant program was also implemented to add greater value to patients’ smart cards by providing discounts at participating merchants.
